Recently, the T3 tunnel breakthrough in the F1 section of CSCEC-undertaken Georgian E60 Highway was achieved.
The T3 tunnel has a two-lane single carriageway and a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The breakthrough marks that the tunnel construction has entered a new phase, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.
Located in Chumateleti-Khevi area, the project is CSCEC's first b project in Georgia. As a part of European route E-60 and with a total length of 11.6 kilometers, the project consists of 3 tunnels, 17 bridges, and 53 culverts. After completion, the project will greatly ease the current traffic pressure of European route E-60, shorten the driving time among Georgian capital Tbilisi, Batumi Port and Poti Port in the west of Georgia, and provide job opportunities in local mountain areas.
