Recently, CSCEC completed the manufacturing of all modular units for Hong Kong's first Light Public Housing (LPH) project in Yuen Long as scheduled.

Construction of the project began in December last year, with factory production of MiC units starting in March this year. In just six months, CSCEC completed the entire manufacturing process for the MiC modules, and all units are expected to be shipped by the end of September. The next phase of the project will involve large-scale installation of the modules, landscaping, and surrounding infrastructure, with the entire project set to be delivered by the first quarter of 2025. Once completed, the project will provide housing for 1,767 two-person households and 389 four-person households.

The project site, covering 86,000 square meters, will accommodate ten three-story buildings, with over 2,100 residential units across 55,900 square meters. In response to challenges like the site’s limited space and proximity to existing residential buildings, the project team broke the construction down into 3,075 MiC modules and 1,035 MiMEP modules. This innovative approach not only cut the construction time by 50-60%, but also reduced costs by 30%.
