Stretching across Algeria from north to south, this highway not only showcases the country’s stunning natural beauty but also brings greater convenience to everyday life through advanced technology and innovative design.

In Algeria, CSCEC played a key role in building the country’s first north-south highway, enabling goods from the capital to be delivered straight to the sub-Saharan region. The project set several infrastructure records in Algeria, including the nation’s longest tunnel, its longest bridge, the highest slope protection, and the tallest bridge. It is widely recognized as a landmark project, notable for its complex conditions, stringent technical requirements, and challenging construction demands.

The highway crosses the Atlas Mountains, known as a “geological museum,” and spans the Chiffa Gorge. Drivers can safely pass through the longest highway tunnel in this area, shortening the journey across the Atlas Mountains from 4-5 hours to just 1 hour. During construction, we introduced an advanced forecasting system to analyze geological conditions up to 100 meters ahead, ensuring safety throughout the process. Today, the highway is managed through an integrated smart tunnel management platform, automating 190 systems for monitoring, lighting, ventilation, and fire safety, ensuring the continued safety and efficiency of transit.

Now, truck drivers increasingly rely on this state-of-the-art highway, significantly reducing travel time and boosting efficiency. As one truck driver noted, since the highway opened, he has had more time to deliver goods. The multi-lane road and excellent conditions make driving here feel much safer.
