Recently, the first concrete bridge in Sri Lanka designed to European standards was successfully completed and opened to traffic. This concrete bridge is part of the southern access road of the 27.7-kilometer tunnel project undertaken by CSCEC in Sri Lanka. It addressed the difficulties of the narrow passage and weight restrictions of the previous bridge, greatly facilitating the travel of nearly a thousand villagers in the surrounding villages.
